BREAKING: Trump mocked Republican Senator Thom Tillis as a quitter and a RINO — Tillis answered with a political FLAMETHROWER.

Donald Trump woke up Friday morning and did what he always does when a Republican refuses to be completely subservient: he went scorched earth on Truth Social.

“Thom Tillis, the weak and ineffective Senator from the Great State of North Carolina,” Trump raged, couldn’t “fight it out in the Senate” and “didn’t have the courage” to run again. Trump claimed full credit for ending Tillis’s career: “When I told him that I would not, under any circumstances, endorse him for another run, too much work and drama — he couldn’t have won, anyway! — he immediately quit the race and publicly announced that he was going to ‘retire.’ I said, ‘Wow, great news, that was easy!'”

Trump concluded with his verdict: “The media said how brave he was to take me on, but he wasn’t brave, he was just the opposite — HE WAS A QUITTER!”

Tillis read every word of it. Then he sat down and wrote a response that should be framed on the wall of every Republican who still has a spine.

“Mr. President, completely agree about having a lot of fun over these next seven months,” Tillis opened — before methodically dismantling Trump’s entire inner circle, one advisor at a time.

On the $1.8 billion slush fund for January 6th insurrectionists: Tillis called it “using billions of taxpayer dollars to compensate convicted felons and thugs who attacked police,” naming Trump’s DOJ pardon czar Ed Martin directly.

On housing policy: Tillis slammed the push for 50-year mortgages and “Elizabeth Warren’s housing bill over sound conservative housing policy,” calling out Bill Pulte by name. (Tillis says that it’s Elizabeth Warren’s bill being pushed by Trump’s team, but it’s actually a bipartisan bill co-authored with South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott).

On Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick: Tillis accused him of pushing policies that use “taxpayer money to transform publicly traded companies into state-owned enterprises.” State ownership of private companies. All this from the party that spent decades warning about socialism.

On Pete Hegseth: Tillis accused Trump’s Defense Secretary of “firing our very best generals and not holding Putin accountable for his systematic kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of Ukrainian civilians.”

Then the kill shot: “If opposing these things makes me a RINO, then I gladly accept that nickname. We need Republicans to do well in November, but the stupid stuff is killing our chances.”

Trump called a senator who opposes paying insurrectionists and protecting war criminals a “quitter” and a “nitpicker.”

Tillis called that — correctly — “the stupid stuff.”

Thom Tillis has seven months left in the Senate. Apparently, he has decided to spend them undermining Trump’s lies and stupidity. More power to him.
